Not in any tourist guide…

A Website that aims to achieve two things.

  1. Commemorate the Camborne Riots of October 1873, a massive streetfight between a hated police force and the town’s miners. Although practically forgotten now, it was serious enough at the time to be quelled by the militia and concern the Home Secretary. You’re provided with information on the riot’s background, main events and aftermath. Details of the main characters involved are available, along with quotations from contemporary newspaper reports.
  2. Promote an as-yet unpublished, fictionalised version of the events, The Camborne Riots of 1873: An Eyewitness Account, giving you a chance to read a sample chapter and leave the author (that’s me) any feedback. Visit the “I need YOUR help!” page. Thanks.
